Tom Nichols

Project Manager at Fulcrum Bioenergy

Tom Nichols has worked in the construction and mortgage industries for over four decades. In 1975, they began their career as a Project Manager at Fluor Corporation, where they worked on 15 different projects over a 24-year span, including 11+ years overseas in Venezuela, Iran, Saudi Arabia, China and the Philippines, as well as domestic projects in West Virginia, Los Angeles, San Jose, New York and Reno, Nevada. In 2002, they joined RECO Mortgage Company as a Senior Mortgage Planner, providing counseling and guidance to hundreds of residential loan customers. In 2006, they moved to Lake Tahoe Mortgage Company in the same role, and in 2007 they joined Design Financial as a Senior Mortgage Planner. In 2016, they began working at Fulcrum BioEnergy, Inc. as a Project Manager, providing project management services for Sierra BioFuels plant near Reno, Nevada. This includes construction management, contract administration, developing execution strategies, monitoring contractors for safety and quality, developing bid packages, contractor selection, and start-up management. In addition, Tom Nichols has been an Adjunct Professor for the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Nevada at Reno since 2001, teaching CEE 466 (Construction Management) and CEE 460 (Construction Engineering).

Tom Nichols obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis between 1971 and 1974.
