Melissa Symington

Melissa Symington, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy and an Adjunct Professor at Fuller Theological Seminary since March 2018. With extensive experience in clinical psychology, Melissa has been a Clinical Psychologist at Penners, Loewen & Symingtons since 2009, specializing in sexual and relational issues, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, and loss. Melissa's training and practice incorporate mindfulness, psychodynamic psychotherapy, neuroscience, sex therapy, and psychological assessment. Previously, Melissa served as a Psychological Assistant at Persona Neurobehavior Group from 2004 to 2005, where responsibilities included neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic testing for various cognitive complaints. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary, an MA in Philosophy from Claremont Graduate University, and a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Whitworth University.
