Lorraine Sanabria has extensive experience in the field of biology education. Lorraine most recently worked as a Biology Teacher for Chesterfield County Public Schools starting in August 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Teacher Assistant in Biology at Western Carolina University starting in August 2021. Lorraine also worked as a Biology Instructor for Hudson Global Scholars, Elevate K-12, and iTutor.com Inc. from 2020 to 2022.
Before focusing on education, Lorraine worked as an Environmental Scientist for the Hillsborough County Wastewater Department from 2001 to 2005. Lorraine then transitioned to teaching and spent over a decade teaching various science subjects, including AP Environmental Science, Biology Honors, Marine Science, Physical Science, and Chemistry, for Hillsborough County Public Schools from 2005 to 2018.
Lorraine's teaching experience includes instructing and developing curriculum for Anatomy & Physiology and Life Science courses at Bell Creek Academy from 2018 to 2019. Lorraine also demonstrated skills in instructional design, laboratory procedures, communication with parents and administrative staff, and participation in professional development activities.
Lorraine Sanabria holds a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Science from Concordia University-Portland, which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. In 2017, they earned an endorsement in AP Biology from the University of South Florida. Additionally, in 1996, Lorraine received a diploma in Medical Specialist from the Academy of Health Science US ARMY. Lorraine also completed Army Basic Training at the United States Army Training Center in 1995. Prior to that, from 1990 to 1995, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Currently, Lorraine is enrolled at Western Carolina University, where they are working towards a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biology, with a focus on Biology, General, from 2021 to 2023.
