Jim Gaines

Jim Gaines is a seasoned public affairs professional currently serving as the Public Affairs Manager for Fulton County Government since November 2024. Previous experience includes roles as a News Reporter and Ohio Statehouse Bureau Chief for Cox Enterprises from August 2021 to August 2024, where Jim reported on state politics for various newspapers. Jim also worked as an Information Officer for the Department of Education in Kentucky from June 2020 to July 2021, engaged in editing, writing press releases, and handling communications. Earlier roles include serving as a Business Reporter at the Knoxville News Sentinel, Editor-in-Chief at Starkville Daily News, and various reporting positions at The Telegraph, Orlando Weekly, and Park City Daily News. Jim holds a B.A. in History and Government as well as a B.A. in Print Journalism from Western Kentucky University.
