Zahir Dossa

Co-Founder & Executive Chairman at Function of Beauty

Zahir Dossa is the co-founder and executive chairman of Function of Beauty, a customizable beauty company that formulates hair, skin, and body care products specifically for each individual. Prior to starting Function of Beauty, Zahir was the founder and president of The Argan Tree, an all-natural beauty company that sold formulations infused with argan oil sourced from a 60-woman cooperative in Agadir, Morocco. 100% of the proceeds from The Argan Tree were returned to the producers and their communities. Zahir has also worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the IMD Business School, where they co-authored a book on the sustainability dilemmas organizations and their leaders face when pursuing corporate sustainability practices. In addition to their work with Function of Beauty and The Argan Tree, Zahir has also co-instructed two courses at the IMD and has published case studies and peer-reviewed journal articles.

Zahir Dossa has a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
