Tuomas Hietanen

Tuomas Hietanen is the CTO and Co-Founder of Fund Ourselves. Tuomas has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and has worked in a variety of industries including finance, healthcare, and manufacturing.

Tuomas started their career as a software designer at JA Tietoteollisuus Oy in 2000. Tuomas worked there for five years before moving to Tapiola Data Ltd in 2006. At Tapiola, Tuomas worked as a senior software specialist for four years. In 2010, they joined Basware as a lead software engineer.

At Basware, Tuomas was responsible for the security and performance of the products. Tuomas also acted as the coding architect for the next generation product. Tuomas left Basware in 2016 to co-found Fund Ourselves.

Fund Ourselves is a peer-to-peer lending platform that allows people to lend and borrow money without the need for a bank. The company has been operational for two years and has so far raised over €1 million from investors.

Tuomas Hietanen has a M.Sc in Information Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, and Telecommunications from LUT University. Tuomas also has a B.Sc in Information Technology from the same school. Lastly, they have a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance, Accounting and Office Services from the Finnish Institute for Enterprise Management.

Tuomas Hietanen works with Rob Goodall - Lead Credit Risk & Analytics, Edouard Abdulhak - Head of Growth & Strategic Partnerships, and Manmeet Singh - Chief Risk & Compliance Officer. Their manager is Nadeem Siam, CEO & Co-Founder.
