Gonçalo Rocha

Gonçalo Rocha has a diverse range of work experience, primarily in academia and finance. Gonçalo is currently an Assistant Professor of Financial Management at the Nova School of Business and Economics, a position they have held since September 2022. Prior to this, they served as an Assistant Professor of Banking at the same institution from September 2015 to August 2022.

In addition to their academic roles, Rocha has also held various positions in the financial sector. Gonçalo was a member of the Management Commission and CFO at Partex Oil & Gas from September 2014 to November 2019. Gonçalo also served as the Head of Finance & Investments at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation from March 2014 onwards. Before that, they worked at Millennium bcp in different roles, including Head of Bancassurance, Head of Small Business, and Head of Small Business, Affluent, Mortgage, Consumer & Business Loans, Insurance.

Rocha's earlier experience includes serving as CEO of PayShop from February 2004 to May 2005 and as CFO at CTT from June 2002 to May 2005. Gonçalo also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Nova School of Business and Economics from 2012 to 2015 and as an Associate Partner at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants from 2005 to 2006.

In addition to their professional roles, Rocha is currently an Executive Board Member at Antarr, a position they have held since November 2021. Overall, their work experience spans academia, finance, and leadership positions, showcasing their expertise in financial management and banking.

Gonçalo Rocha earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management from Universidade Católica Portuguesa in the years 1983 to 1989. Gonçalo later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the same university, completing it from 1991 to 1993. In 2010 to 2015, Rocha obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Finance from Nova School of Business and Economics. Most recently, in 2023, they attended Harvard Business School for the Advance Management Program, specializing in Organizational Leadership.
