Astrid Mandel

Astrid Mandel is an experienced professional in gender studies and social policies, currently serving as the Regional Professional for the Rural Women Program at Fundación PRODEMU since April 2023. Prior roles include work with the Ministry of Culture and Arts of the Government of Chile in the Registration and Research section, as a National Social Specialist for the FAO on a landscape restoration project, and teaching gender studies and masculinities at Universidad Católica de Temuco. Additional experience encompasses assisting with postgraduate diplomas in gender and public policy at the Centro de Investigación y Estudios de Género at Universidad de Chile, and contributing to the application of the Lafkenche Law with the Asociación Indígena Identidad Territorial Lafkenche. Astrid Mandel holds a Master's degree in Gender Studies and Culture with a focus on social sciences from Universidad de Chile.
