Amber Haywood

Amber Haywood currently serves as the Director of Development for the Schools of Divinity, Education, and Social Work at Howard University, leading major gift fundraising initiatives and securing significant donations, including a $1.25 million gift from Lilly Endowment Inc. Previously, Amber held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Fundraise Inc., where duties included acting as interim Chief Development Officer for various nonprofit organizations and successfully doubling YR Media's budget. Amber has extensive experience in development roles at organizations like Alabama Arise and Teach For America, consistently achieving significant revenue increases and securing multi-year, six-figure grants. Educational achievements include an Executive Certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania and two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Communication Studies and African-American/Black Studies.
