Brenda J. Thames

Brenda J. Thames is a board member at Furman University. Brenda has previously worked as a career center coordinator at Spartanburg Community College and as an admissions coordinator and career counselor at Greenville Technical College. Brenda has experience counseling students on transferring to upper-level institutions, overseeing the acquisitions and content of a career center, and teaching a student success class for incoming freshmen. In their previous role at Greenville Technical College, they assisted prospective students with information on the 120+ programs offered by the school, provided career and personal counseling to students and the general public, and proctored testing for local industry and their applicant pools.

After graduating from Easley High School, Brenda J. Thames pursued a BA in Psychology at Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University. Brenda then went on to earn their M. Ed. in Counseling from Clemson University.
