Diane Boyd is the current Director of the Faculty Development Center & Associate Dean Faculty Development at Furman University. Diane has also previously held the position of Associate Director of the Center for Teaching & Learning at Furman University from July 2006 to August 2014. Prior to that, they were the Director of the Teaching, Learning, & Technology Center at LSU in Shreveport from August 2002 to July 2006. Diane Boyd has dedicated their career to helping others design appropriately challenging courses and learning environments. Diane is an expert in their field and has facilitated many meaningful faculty conversations about course re-design and service learning.

Diane Boyd earned their PhD in 18th Century British Literature and Cultural Studies from Auburn University. Diane also holds a Master of Arts (MA) in English Literature and Literary Theory from Florida State University.

Diane Boyd reports to Elizabeth Davis, President. They are on a team with John Wheeler - Associate Provost, Integrative Science & Professor, Chemistry, Kenneth D. Peterson - VP, Academic Affairs & Provost & Professor, Economics, and Heather Rockwell - Executive Assistant.
