MJ Levitan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. They started their career at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at St. Michael's Hospital as a Research Interviewer. After that, they worked as a Practicum Student at Karnataka Health Promotion Trust and as a Research Student at the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
Later, MJ joined CAMH as a Research Coordinator, where they conducted research on patient and family engagement in clinical care, with a focus on using technology for information sharing. They also served as a Special Advisor, Global Health at CAMH, where they led strategic planning and delivery of activities to build mental health and addiction systems in low- and middle-income countries.
Following their time at CAMH, MJ joined Think Research, initially as a Project Manager for the Provincial Digital Quality-Based Procedures Program, where they implemented and managed the deployment of digital platforms in numerous hospitals across Ontario. They then became a Senior Project Manager, leading the co-design, development, and delivery of disruptive digital health products and pilots. Their achievements include leading a proof of concept for virtual care deployment in the WW LHIN and expanding Think Research's funding to include the entire West Region of Ontario. Finally, at Think Research, MJ served as the Director of Client Services, establishing virtual care as a new line of business and overseeing its spread and scale into multiple health sectors and countries.
After Think Research, MJ joined MindBeacon as the Senior Director of Product Strategy, responsible for developing and executing product strategies. They later became the Head of Product, leading product development and strategy.
Most recently, MJ joined Future Fertility as the Head of Product, contributing their expertise in product management and strategy.
Overall, MJ Levitan has a strong background in healthcare innovation, project management, and product strategy, with a focus on mental health and virtual care.
MJ Levitan completed a Master of Public Health degree in Global Health from Simon Fraser University from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at McGill University from 2006 to 2010, with a major in Sociology and a minor in Social Studies of Medicine. They also participated in a semester exchange program at the University of Adelaide in 2009. In addition to their formal education, MJ Levitan obtained a certification in Human-Centered Design from NovoEd in February 2016.
