Landon Klein

Landon Klein serves as the Director of U.S. Policy at the Future of Life Institute since January 2023, previously holding the position of Principal Consultant for the Committee on Privacy & Consumer Protection at the California State Assembly from February 2020 to January 2023. Klein has extensive experience in legislative processes, particularly in evaluating and analyzing legislation related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Prior roles include Senior Consultant at the California Council on Science and Technology and a Science & Technology Policy Fellow for the California State Assembly Judiciary Committee. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Neurosciences from UC San Diego and a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Research experience encompasses studies on neurochemistry, with numerous publications and presentations at international conferences. Klein has a strong commitment to mentoring and advocacy, especially for underrepresented communities in science.
