Sakura Holloway has a diverse work experience in the biopharmaceutical and investment sectors. Sakura started their career at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research as a Business Development and Intellectual Property Manager. Sakura then worked at CSIRO as the Head of Commercialisation - RNAi Platform before joining Benitec Biopharma Ltd as the Chief IP Counsel. After that, they served as an Investment Analyst - Healthcare at OneVentures Pty Ltd and as a Partner at Start Codon. Sakura later worked as a Programme Lead - Investment at MedCity and as an Independent consultant specializing in Life Sciences IP & Commercialisation. Sakura has also served as the Head of Asset Portfolio at the University of Manchester Innovation Factory and as a Director at Newstar Innovation. Currently, Sakura is an Investment Director at Future Planet Capital.

Sakura Holloway earned a MIP degree in Intellectual Property from the University of Technology Sydney from 2006 to 2009. Sakura also obtained a MSc degree in Research and thesis with a focus on Immunology & Molecular Biology from the same university from 1999 to 2002. In 2016, Sakura obtained a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia. Sakura is also a Registered Patent Attorney, which was obtained in 2011.
