Kayla Guilliams

Kayla Guilliams has a diverse work experience in various roles. Currently, they work as a Photographer, starting in 2022. In the same year, they also hold the role of Community Manager at Future, where they manage and plans content across social media platforms, executes email and SMS campaigns, creates video content, writes and edits blogs, manages a team of content interns, and helps improve the product and increase engagement.

Before joining Future, Kayla served as a Web Editor Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine from December 2021 to May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Science Communications Assistant at Data-Driven EnviroLab from September 2021 to May 2022.

In 2021, Kayla held various roles, including Environment and Science Reporter at The Current from May to August, Editorial Intern at WALTER Magazine from January to May, and Environmental Consultant at Water Finance Assistance from January to May.

Kayla'swork experience also includes positions in 2020, such as City and State Reporter and Data Team Member at The Daily Tar Heel from August 2020 to May 2021, Environment and Community Reporter at WORKING NARRATIVES from May 2020 to January 2021, and Data Intern at North Carolina News Collaborative from May to August 2020.

Kayla Guilliams completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies, with minors in Media and Journalism and Statistics and Analytics, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kayla attended the university from 2017 to 2021. Additionally, Kayla pursued further education at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, where they obtained a Masters of Media and Communication degree. Kayla'sfield of study in their master's program focused on Environment and Science Communication. This education was completed between 2020 and 2022.
