William Abb has a diverse and extensive work experience that spans over several decades. William began their career in the US Army, serving as an Infantry Officer for 21 years and holding various positions of increasing responsibility. During their military career, they served as a strategic planner, operations officer, executive officer, and portfolio/program/project manager at all levels. William also played a critical role in improving the manning, administration, evaluation, compensation, and overall organizational efficiency.

After leaving the military, Abb ventured into the field of consulting and founded ABB Strategic Consulting LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Through this company, they provided strategic planning and program/project management support to start-up companies. William also offered operational and project management consulting services to AKLE Tree Behavioral Health Counseling, PLLC.

Abb's experience also includes serving as the Executive Director of the Citizen Soldier Support Program (CSSP), an organization that aims to increase access to behavioral health resources for veterans, service members, and their families. William successfully implemented operational and strategic planning, portfolio/program/project management, and budgetary discipline to ensure the program's long-term sustainability.

In 1996, Abb pursued a Masters of Science in Administration (MSA) degree with a focus on International Administration from Central Michigan University. Building on their military career, in 2000, they completed the Masters of Military Arts and Science (MMAS) program at the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) at the US Army Command and General Staff College, specializing in Military History, Theory, and Operational Art. Most recently, from 2016 to 2018, Abb attended the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, where they completed the GlobalOne Executive MBA program, earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree. Additionally, in April 2016, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
