Sonu Khanal

Sonu Khanal, PhD, is a Senior Hydrologist and Climate Change Expert/Project Manager at FutureWater since October 2016, leading projects in areas such as water, food, energy, and climate change. Prior roles include Researcher at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (February 2017) focusing on extreme events, Hydrologist at Practical Action Consulting refining flood forecasting models, and Water Resources Modeller at ICIMOD, working on hydrological modeling in the Hindu Kush-Himalaya region. Additional academic experience includes teaching positions at Tribhuwan University and other institutions. Sonu Khanal holds a PhD in Water and Climate Risk from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and advanced degrees in Water Resources Engineering and Civil Engineering from Tribhuvan University.
