Gavin Lai

Gavin Lai has extensive work experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Starting in 1998, they worked as a Senior Fund Administrator at Investec Australia Limited. Gavin then joined Equity Trustees in 2000 as a Senior Insurance Administrator, where they managed a portfolio of group insurance plans. In 2006, they moved to CommInsure, where they served as a Product Support Manager, responsible for managing product requirements for a portfolio of group life clients. From 2008 to 2015, Gavin worked at TAL Life, holding roles such as Technical Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, and Head of Product for Group Life. Gavin'sresponsibilities included managing group life insurance products, leading a team, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Gavin also worked at Pacific Life Re as a Product Development Manager and at Reinsurance Group of America as a Director of Regional Accounts and Marketing Services-Asia. Currently, they hold a leadership position at FWD Insurance, initially serving as a Director of Group Product Propositions and later progressing to Assistant Vice President and Vice President of Brand & Marketing.

Gavin Lai pursued their education by completing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Western Sydney University in 2007. Following this, in 2007, they obtained a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia. Gavin further enhanced their professional capabilities by earning an Executive MBA degree in Management (Marketing, Strategy, Operations Management, Statistics, Entrepreneurship, Innovation) from AGSM @ UNSW Business School from 2012 to 2015. Recently, in 2023, Gavin completed an Executive DBA from Ecole des Ponts ParisTech. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Google Analytics 4 Complete Course from The Experience Effect in 2023 and is recognized as a Lawyer by the Supreme Court of New South Wales since 2007.
