Alison Silveira serves as the Policy and Research Manager for Criminal Justice Reform at FWD.us since September 2021, having previously held the position of Senior Associate in the same area. Prior to joining FWD.us, Silveira worked at Community Resources For Justice from September 2017 to July 2020 as a Data and Policy Specialist at the Crime and Justice Institute, where responsibilities included leading data analysis for the Justice Reinvestment Initiative. Silveira has also contributed to various organizations such as Mount Tamalpais College, the Office of Oakland City Council, the ACLU, The Santiago Times, Universidad de Chile, The Bronx Defenders, Human Rights Watch, and Project Health in roles that encompass teaching, policy consulting, legal support, and journalism. Silveira holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Human Rights, and Economics from Barnard College.
