Ama Akoto

Ama Akoto is a Communications Coordinator at FWD.us since January 2019, where responsibilities include daily supervision of communications fellows and developing comprehensive communications strategies. Previously, Ama served as a Press Assistant, enhancing project management tools and overseeing the onboarding of new Communications Fellows, and started as a Communications Fellow, supporting FWD.us's strategic communications goals. Prior experience includes working as a Social Media Manager for The South and as a Press Intern for the National Women's Law Center, where tasks involved media research and event staffing. Ama holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Women's and Gender Studies from North Carolina Central University, earned in 2018.
