Sr. Cybersecurity Program Manager at FWG Solutions

Dr. Joe Simpson has worked in a variety of roles in the field of cybersecurity. Dr. Joe began their career in 2011 as the Chief, Enterprise IT Support for the United States Department of Defense. In 2016, they took on the role of Cybersecurity Risk Assessment Manager Site Lead/F-35 Information Systems Security Manager for the Lockheed Martin F35 program. That same year, they also became an Adjunct Professor at Southern New Hampshire University. In 2018, they joined Odyssey Systems as a Senior Cybersecurity Software/Program Protection Engineer. In 2020, they took on roles at KBR, Inc. as a Security Control Assessor Representative (SCAR) and at Planned Systems International as a Sr. Technical Advisor. In 2021, they joined ARMA Global Corporation, A General Dynamics Company as a Sr. Cybersecurity Advisor. In 2022, they began working as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Illinois Springfield and in 2023, they became a Sr. Cybersecurity Program Manager at FWG Solutions.

Dr. Joe Simpson has an extensive education history. In 2012, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Information Systems Cybersecurity from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2011. Dr. Joe also attended Bellevue University from 2004 to 2006 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Management Information Systems. Additionally, they attended the Air Command and Staff College. Dr. Simpson also holds several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)\u00b2, CISSP from ISC2, MCSE from Microsoft, PMP from the Project Management Institute, and SCP from SNIA.
