Tim Sudweeks

Tim seeks to strengthen and develop the interconnections between a client's needs, the users, and the surrounding environment whether the development is mixed-use, cultural, educational, commercial, residential, convention centers, or green roofs. With over fourteen years of experience as a project architect and project manager, each project he touches becomes a unique and efficient response to a nuanced program.

As a young child, Tim was already planning where to study architecture—he didn't care what he would build so long as he would build something. At Columbia University, he dove into sustainable architecture, seeking to integrate the sociopolitical factors that can support—or undermine—a building's success. Building to code wasn't enough for him; Tim wanted to improve lives.

Tim's expertise in Passive House standards has contributed to the proactive approach to carbon-reduction while making comfortable and affordable environments. Tim has worked on several high-profile projects including the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center Renovation; 7900 Wisconsin Avenue, a 440,000-square-foot residential building in Bethesda, MD; and a 5,000,000-square-foot master plan for a mixed-use neighborhood in Virginia located next to a future metro station. Foremost in his mind is developing a strong community that can stabilize a neighborhood—in so doing, building a success story that makes green architecture truly capable of being sustained.
