Caoimhe Buckley

Caoimhe Buckley has extensive work experience in corporate affairs, communications, and public relations. Caoimhe is currently the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Fyffes, where they have been since March 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Corporate Affairs at Fyffes from December 2018 to March 2021. In addition to their role at Fyffes, they are a Board Member at Freshfel Europe since April 2021.

Before joining Fyffes, Caoimhe held various positions at AGL Energy, including Chief Content and Communications Officer from June 2017 to September 2018. Caoimhe was responsible for leading a team to establish a content platform and managing media issues faced by the company. Caoimhe also managed social media, internal communications, and digital communications.

Caoimhe has also worked at BHP Billiton, where they held several senior roles, including Vice President Corporate Affairs (Projects) and Vice President Communications. Caoimhe was accountable for stakeholder engagement in Europe and provided strategic communications and government relations advice. Caoimhe also played a key role in establishing a company-wide response to transparency in reporting. Prior to BHP Billiton, they held positions at the University of Melbourne, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), Standard Chartered Bank, London Metal Exchange, Saatchi & Saatchi, and the European Commission.

Throughout their career, Caoimhe has demonstrated a strong background in communications strategy, public affairs, government relations, stakeholder engagement, and brand management.

Caoimhe Buckley completed their education in various institutions. Caoimhe obtained a Masters (hons) degree in Economic Science from University College Dublin during the period of 1998 to 1999. Prior to that, they pursued a Masters degree in Economics & Politics at Trinity College Dublin from 1993 to 1998. Caoimhe also completed their Leaving Certificate at Alexandra College, although the specific years are not provided. Additionally, they acquired specialized knowledge in various areas through professional development programs. These include completing a course called "Governance Foundations for Not For Profits" at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Diploma in Public Relations (covering Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication) from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and executive education in "Strategy in the Age of Digital Disruption" at INSEAD.
