In 2005, Alessandro worked at Toyota Financial Services as a New Business & Vehicle Management Administrator, where they gained skills in administrative tasks related to vehicle management.
From 2007 to 2010, they worked at Citi in the Equity Capital Markets division of the Investment Banking department, focusing on capital markets and investment banking activities.
In 2011, Alessandro co-founded a startup called ShowOn, which was a social media platform. Although the duration of their role is not specified, this experience demonstrates their entrepreneurial spirit and involvement in the startup ecosystem.
In 2012, they founded and produced OneMoreTime, an OTT Video Streaming Startup. Alessandro led a team of 16 in creating a talent competition that gained significant popularity, with over half a million unique user streams in one month. This success led to collaborations with Streamit.tv, Italy's largest multi-channel OTT video streaming platform.
Starting in 2015, Alessandro played a crucial role in creating Dalus Capital, one of the largest Venture Capital (VC) funds in Mexico and Latin America, where they served as the Investment Team Lead. Alessandro was involved in all aspects of the fund, including establishing legal entities, fundraising, deal origination, investment analysis, due diligence, and execution. Alessandro also contributed to the development of the entrepreneurial and VC ecosystem as a speaker, panelist, juror, and startup mentor.
In 2019, Alessandro joined ENGIE Factory, the corporate venture capital and company building arm of ENGIE, a global utilities group leading the energy transition to renewables. Alessandro initially served as the COO of EF-Mexico and later became the Head of EF-Mexico. In these roles, they oversaw deal origination, due diligence, and execution of investments and acquisitions across Latin America.
In the same year, Alessandro also served as a Board Member in the Corporate VC Committee of the Mexican Association of PE & VC Funds (AMEXCAP), contributing to the development of the corporate venture capital ecosystem.
Most recently, in 2021, Alessandro joined Fz Sports as the VP of Corporate Development, Strategy, and FP&A. Fz Sports is a global OTT & Rights Management startup that aims to connect sports fans with the content they love. The company provides value to the sports value chain through its OTT streaming platform, Fanatiz.
Throughout their career, Alessandro has demonstrated expertise in venture capital, corporate development, strategy, and investment banking, with a focus on technology startups, energy-related sectors, and sports media.
Alessandro Paganini has a diverse education history. Alessandro completed an MBA with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital at IE Business School from 2014 to 2015. During the same period, they also participated in the Global Network Exchange Program at Yale School of Management. Prior to this, Alessandro obtained a BSc (Honours) in Business Administration from the University of Bath, where their degree program was ranked second in the UK by The Times in 2020. In 2013 to 2014, they pursued an Advanced Financial Markets and Technical Trading Specialization at IEB. Alessandro's educational journey began at St George's British International School in Rome, where they completed their International Baccalaureate from 1990 to 2004.
In addition to their formal education, Alessandro Paganini obtained a certification from Kauffman Fellows for completing the Venture Deals Investment Course by Brad Feld in October 2019. Alessandro also earned approval from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) as a Financial Services Authority (FSA) in September 2008.
