Melissa Phillips is an experienced professional in the fields of software engineering and data science, currently serving as a Software Engineering Manager and Data Scientist at GA-CCRi since June 2020. Previously, Melissa held the position of Data Science Intern and completed the Advanced Data Science Track at HackCville. In the realm of education, Melissa worked as a Geometry Teacher at Tandem Friends School and as a 7th Grade Math Teacher at St. Anne's Belfield School, where responsibilities included advising students and leading the 7th Grade team. Melissa also served as an Adjunct Mathematics Instructor at Piedmont Virginia Community College, focusing on Developmental Mathematics courses. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Data Science from UVA School of Data Science, a Master's in Mathematics for Teachers from the University of Waterloo, and several degrees from McMaster University and Western University, highlighting a strong foundation in mathematics and education.
