Ronan Kearney

Ronan Kearney is a highly experienced Consultant Sports & Exercise Medicine Physician, currently serving at the Sports Surgery Clinic and the Sport Ireland Institute, where responsibilities include roles as Medical Officer for Athletics and Badminton. In addition to clinical practice, Ronan holds academic positions at Trinity College Dublin as a Senior Clinical Lecturer and External Lecturer in Sports & Exercise Medicine. Ronan has been actively involved with the Gaelic Athletic Association as Chairman of the Gaelic Athletic Medical Association and serves as the Louth Senior Football Team Doctor. Ongoing contributions to sports medicine are evident through roles with the European Tour and medical leadership for events such as the European Youth Olympic Festival and Paris Olympics 2024. Educational qualifications include several advanced diplomas and degrees in Sports & Exercise Medicine, including FFSEM and M.Sc. from prestigious institutions. Previous editorial experience includes serving as Associate Editor for BMJ journals.
