Rachael Smith has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Rachael began their career as a Designer at Perkins & Will, where they worked on environmental design projects for clients such as Duke University and St Mary's Medical Center. Rachael then joined Agency.com during the internet boom, where they started as a web designer and eventually became the Chief Love Officer, responsible for maintaining and improving the company's culture.
After Agency.com, Rachael moved on to Chicago Title, where they worked as a Closer, managing loan packages and conducting multiple transactions simultaneously. Rachael then transitioned to PERL Mortgage as a Marketing Director, leading the company through a rebrand and expanding their marketing efforts to 14 states.
Rachael furthered their career at the National Safety Council, where they worked as a Marketing Account Executive, overseeing corporate marketing and communications functions. Rachael then joined Story Sessions as a Show Producer, creating a new storytelling show with a focus on inclusivity and high production value.
Rachael's next move was to Dream Town Realty, where they initially worked as a print and digital designer before being promoted to the role of Marketing Director. In this role, they managed the full creative team and was responsible for creating corporate materials, property collateral, and event marketing.
Currently, Rachael is employed at Gagen MacDonald as a Senior Manager of Experience Studio Operations. In this role, they started as a project manager focused on improving project management processes. However, their responsibilities expanded to include recruitment, onboarding, contractor oversight, case study development, and business growth. Rachael particularly enjoys working with consultants and the creative team to develop unique solutions for clients.
Rachael Smith attended the Latin School of Chicago from 1990 to 1993, where they studied Art/Art Studies, General. Following their time at the Latin School, they went on to attend the University of Michigan from 1993 to 1997. At the University of Michigan, Rachael pursued a degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Graphic Design.
