Emma McCoy is a skilled Prototyping and Manufacturing Technician at Prolific Machines Inc. since August 2022. Previously, Emma contributed as an Undergraduate Researcher at UC Santa Barbara’s Clean Energy Transition Lab under Dr. Ranjit Deshmukh and gained practical experience as an Applications Engineer intern at SafeTraces, Inc. Emma also served as a Mechanical Engineering Design Project Consultant at Blue Ocean Gear and participated in the NOAA-sponsored Mechanical Engineering Capstone project focused on reducing whale entanglements. Additional research roles at UC Santa Barbara included positions in the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management and the Department of Physics, culminating in the production of award-winning films as a Producer. Emma holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Environmental Studies and Physics from UC Santa Barbara, completed in June 2022.
