Engineering Manager, Software Gardener at Gain Compliance

Nicholas Tuck has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career.

From 2021 to the present, they have been employed at Gain Compliance as a Software Gardener.

Starting in 2016, Nicholas worked as a Presenter at Software Gardener. Nicholas gave presentations on topics such as Increment and Iterative Development, Quality Software, and Extreme Programming at conferences and meetups.

Prior to that, they were an Organizer for the Agile for Defense Meetup starting in 2013. In this role, they facilitated meetups and presented on Agile and its application in the defense industry.

At Aviture from 2014 to 2018, they served as a Senior Software Engineer and team lead. Nicholas worked on a government contract supporting UAV mission execution teams and led an agile project to update a web application.

From 2011 to 2014, Nicholas worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Air Force Weather Agency as TEKsystems. Nicholas primarily worked on Java EE web applications and visualizing weather data.

In their earlier career, they worked as a Senior Web Developer at Quick Connect Computer Services from 2008 to 2012. Nicholas developed and maintained web services and managed customer relations.

Additionally, Nicholas worked as a Software Engineer at Air Force Weather Agency as CSSS.NET from 2009 to 2011 and as a Web Developer at Brads Web Design from 2006 to 2008.

Nicholas Tuck attended Bellevue West high school from the year 2001 to 2005, where they pursued a general education curriculum. Following their high school education, they enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they spent the years 2005 to 2009. At the university, Nicholas pursued a Bachelors of Science degree, majoring in computer science, math, and physics.

In addition to their formal education, Nicholas obtained certifications in the field of scrum. In August 2011, they earned a Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance. Nicholas further enhanced their expertise in the field by becoming a Certified Scrum Professional in October 2013, also from the Scrum Alliance.
