Ana Ruano Rubio has worked in a variety of roles in the field of molecular biology since 2004. In 2004, they were a practice student at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Microbiology department, where they conducted research on the characterization of microorganisms oil degraders and used the DAPI staining technique and fluorescence microscopy. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at Laboratorios Anabiol S.A, where they monitored and supported the process of microbiological analysis of samples and maintained the laboratory. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at Crystax Pharmaceuticals, where they developed molecular biology techniques, such as DNA cloning, PCR, native and denaturing gel electrophoresis, western blot, and Protein Expression and Purification by FPLC, as well as cultures of human cell lines and viability cell assays. From 2009 to 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at Oryzon, where they developed molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, native and denaturing gel electrophoresis, western blot, ChIP, ELISA, cultures of human cell lines, and viability cell assays, as well as biochemical assays of enzyme activity. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Genetics department of the University of Barcelona in collaboration with Minoryx Therapeutics, where they developed molecular biology techniques, human cell culture techniques, such as viability cell assays, enzyme enhancement assays, and cell transfection. Finally, from 2018 to the present, they have been a Biology Researcher at Gain Therapeutics, where they have developed molecular biology techniques and human cell culture techniques, such as viability cell assays, enzyme enhancement assays, cell transfection, and immunofluorescence techniques.
Ana Ruano Rubio began their educational journey in 2000 when they enrolled in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Ana graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, General. Ana also attended the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, though the degree obtained is unknown. In 2019, they obtained the EMBL Course: Target Engagement in Biology and Drug Discovery certification from EMBL.
