Joshua Boswell

Engineer Utility Designer at Gainesville Regional Utilities

Joshua Boswell has a diverse work experience that spans several roles and companies. Joshua currently works as an Engineer Utility Designer at Gainesville Regional Utilities since November 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a General Engineer at Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center from February 2019 to November 2020.

Joshua had an internship at Gainesville Regional Utilities from January 2014 to December 2018, where they were involved in various telecommunication projects and implemented Wi-Fi planning and surveying software.

During their time at University of Florida from August 2012 to December 2018, they were an Electrical Engineering student and also served as a STAR Mentor for the Student Transition and Retention Office, providing support to summer bridge programs and personal development events for Engineering Freshman Transition Program participants.

Joshua held roles in the National Society of Black Engineers, including Programs Chairperson from May 2015 to May 2016, Region 3 Zone Ambassador and National Pre-College Initiative Committee Publications Chair from September 2016 to May 2017, and Pre-College Initiative Chair from May 2013 to May 2014.

Additionally, Joshua served as a Teaching Assistant at a NASA STEM Camp in June 2016, where they assisted teachers in creating lesson plans on aviation, automotive, and mechanical engineering for middle school science teachers.

Joshua Boswell attended Eastside High School from 2008 to 2012. Joshua then went on to study Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the University of Florida from 2012 to 2018.
