Dongli Li

Founder and VP technology at gaitQ

Dongli Li has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. In 2009, Dongli worked as a Research and Development Assistant at China Geological University, where they focused on the control system for temperature monitoring. Dongli then moved on to China Unicom in 2011, where they served as a Research and Development Intern in the Operation and Maintenance department. In 2012, Dongli worked as a Research Intern at John Radcliffe, The Hospital, focusing on cardiology and identifying a solution to shorten hospitals' response time. In 2014, Dongli worked as a Market Research Analyst at Oxford University Innovation for an insulin biosensor product.

Dongli's work experience at the University of Oxford began in 2017, where they held two roles. As a Research Associate, they developed a numerical platform that combined Finite Element Method and Meshless Method, studying the mechanical dynamics of neuron growth cone. In their second role at the University of Oxford, Dongli became a Technical lead and co-founder of a research project aimed at helping people with Parkinson's disease walk better using targeted cueing. The project successfully spun out from the University in 2019, and Dongli's responsibilities included proof of concept prototyping, market research, patient engagement, and business planning and development.

In 2019, Dongli founded gaitQ and assumed the role of Founder and VP of Technology. Dongli is responsible for improving the quality of life for people affected by Parkinson's by developing a wearable, smart medical device to restore mobility. Dongli oversees hardware development and PPI at gaitQ.

Throughout their career, Dongli has demonstrated a strong focus on technological innovation and healthcare, particularly in the field of Parkinson's disease.

Dongli Li completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2012, Dongli Li pursued further education at the University of Birmingham, earning another BEng degree in the same field. Subsequently, from 2012 to 2016, Dongli Li attended the University of Oxford and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering. Additionally, in 2015, Dongli Li was a visiting student at the University of Liège, studying Mechanical Engineering for a brief period.

Dongli Li also possesses two additional certifications. In January 2018, Dongli Li obtained a certification in GCP (Good Clinical Practice) from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). More recently, in March 2021, Dongli Li received certification in First Aid and CPR from the International Open Academy.
