Kristi Kuhnen

Kristi Kuhnen has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering and development. Kristi is currently working at Gala Games as an Alchemist/Senior Full Stack Engineer since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Better.com as a Senior Front End Engineer from December 2020 to March 2022. Kristi also worked at MPS Limited as a Principal Engineer for a brief period from July 2020 to December 2020.

Before joining MPS Limited, Kristi had a long tenure at HighWire Press, Inc., where they held multiple roles. From November 2017 to December 2020, they served as a Principal Engineer, responsible for leading the front-end architecture and supporting back-end services for web-based content publishing solutions. During this time, they re-architected and rebuilt the publishing platform and redesigned the alerts system.

From January 2013 to November 2017, Kristi was a Lead Front-End Engineer at HighWire Press, where they led the front-end architecture and development for web-based content publishing solutions. Kristi also mentored engineers in multiple offices and collaborated closely with product management and UI/UX designers.

Kristi's journey at HighWire Press started as a Front-End Engineer from June 2011 to January 2013. In this role, they built the first Drupal-based themes for over 1500 journal sites and played a key role in establishing a UI/UX function within the company. Kristi also introduced a mobile-first design process.

Kristi began their career as a Jr. Web Developer at Open Media Foundation from March 2010 to August 2010.

From 2005 to 2010, Kristi Kuhnen attended the University of Denver, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Kristi'sfield of study included Digital Media Studies and French.
