Caroll George

Vice President, Site Reliability Engineering at Galaxy Digital

Caroll George has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Caroll started their career as an IT/Network Support at SAM IT Solutions in 2014. Caroll then worked as an ITECS Engineer at NC State University, where they provided help desk service to employees and resolved common technical issues. After that, Caroll joined Boeing in 2015 as a System Design and Integration Analyst, where they designed and tested project workflow management tools and led a project to bring mobile video conferencing to the factory floor.

Caroll continued their journey at Boeing and took on different roles. Caroll worked as a Software Engineer in 2016, developing SLATE, a systems engineering and design application. Caroll also led the WIP Web App replacement team in system architecture design and development. In 2017, Caroll took on the role of System Architect, where they collaborated with a team to overhaul Boeing's ESXi cluster environment and served as an Azure Solutions Architect.

In 2018, Caroll transitioned to the role of Software Engineer at Boeing, developing the Shield safety application using microservice architecture and exercising XP practices. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer, developing a web application that converts engineering drawings to 3D PDFs. Caroll also led the architecture and development of Software Factory infrastructure solutions.

In 2020, Caroll joined PEAK6 as a Lead DevOps/Platform Engineer, where they led the development, deployment, and operations of Elastic Kubernetes Service clusters and implemented disaster recovery solutions. Caroll also developed and deployed Kafka and Zookeeper stacks and implemented Github Actions for CI/CD processes. In 2022, Caroll joined Galaxy as the Vice President of Site Reliability Engineering.

Caroll George holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. In addition, Caroll has obtained certifications in App Containerization and Kubernetes CICD from Bellevue College in November 2019, Cloud Technologies, Devops, & Cloud Architecture from Bellevue College in August 2019, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2020.
