Andrew Young is the current Operations Director at Glan Agua and has been with the company since September 2009. Andrew originally started as the Contracts Director and was responsible for the water treatment plant's mechanical and electrical design, developing detailed installation drawings, procuring plant equipment and instrumentation, visiting sites regularly to ensure material delivery on-time to installation teams, induction of site staff and continual monitoring of Health and Safety on-site, generation of Commissioning documentation and final Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and ongoing tendering for new projects including design, preparation of submission documentation and pricing.
Andrew Young has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) Hons. in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Sligo. Andrew also has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Water & Wastewater Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Sligo. In addition, they have a Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Technology, Sligo. Andrew is also certified by SOLAS (An tSeirbhís Oideachais Leanúnaigh agus Scileanna) in FAS Safe Pass and by IOSH in Managing the Construction Design Process. Andrew Young is also certified by Engineers Ireland in Certificate in Sustainable Energy and by FETAC (Further Education and Training Awards Council) in Certificate in the Fundamentals of Project Management. Andrew is also certified by IOSH in Managing Safety in Construction and by EUSR in Water Hygiene Card.
