Vanessa Perez is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in immigration law and victim justice. Currently serving as the Managing Attorney at the Galveston-Houston Immigrant Representation Project since October 2020, Vanessa previously held several positions at the YMCA of Greater Houston, including Supervising Attorney for Immigration Legal Services and Equal Justice Works Crime Victims Justice Corps Fellow. Vanessa began their legal career as a Staff Attorney at the YMCA and has also worked as Legal Counsel for Empresas Polar and as a Senior Attorney at Taxand Venezuela. Early in the career, roles included Tax Attorney at PwC Venezuela. Vanessa holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center and an Abogado (Lawyer) degree from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
