Maximilian Caldwell

Maximilian Caldwell, CPA, currently serves as the VP of Finance at GAMCO Investors, Inc. since May 2019. Prior to this role, Maximilian held the position of Vice President/Controller at The Carlyle Group from February 2010 to May 2019, specializing in fund management and overseeing the operations of Carlyle's BDCs. Earlier experience includes a senior auditor role in the Assurance & Advisory Business Services at Ernst & Young, where responsibilities involved auditing financial services clients, including hedge funds. Maximilian's career began with an internship in Corporate Finance at Ernst & Young, and a diverse background includes several summers spent as a dockmaster and rowing instructor at Northeast Harbor Fleet. Maximilian holds an MBA in Finance from Fordham Gabelli School of Business and a BS in Accounting from Fordham University, complemented by an Associate's degree in Accounting from Lakeland Community College.
