Pol Colomer

Data Scientist at Games for a living

Pol Colomer is currently an advisor at Games for a Living. Prior to that, they were a visiting scholar at Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA) at the San Diego Super Computer Center (SDSC) at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). Their field of research is in “Research in Computer and Information Services,” specifically network science: analysis of the structure and function of complex networks in nature and society.

Before their time at UC San Diego, Colomer was a software developer for network analysis at the University of Barcelona. Their work involved software development in C, bash and python for the analysis of complex networks together with theoretical and numerical study with these kind of systems.

Pol Colomer has a Ph.D. in Physics from Universitat de Barcelona, a Master’s Degree in Computational and applied physics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Universitat de Barcelona. Pol was an exchange student during their Bachelor's degree at University of Amsterdam. Pol has also received certification from Netsci in Attendance and deliver of the talk "Local percolation thresholds" at the Netsci 2015, Zaragoza, Spain, from University of Limerick in Visiting Scholar for one week and deliver of the seminar "Bond percolation on complex networks" at University of Limerick, Limerick , Ireland, from Netsci in Attendance and deliver of the talk "Double percolation phase transition in clustered complex networks" at the Netsci 2014, Berkley, United States, and from European Society of Complex Systems in Attendance and deliver of the talk "Deciphering the global organization of clustering in real Complex Network" at the European conference on Complex Systems. ECCS'13. Barcelona, Spain.
