Ravi Durvasula, Ph.D has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ravi is currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering at Gamma Scientific since October 2022. Prior to this, they were the Vice President R&D - Heliostats at Heliogen from January 2022 to September 2022.
Before joining Heliogen, Ravi worked at Alcon as the Head of Retinal Surgical Instrumentation R&D from March 2015 to December 2021. Ravi also served as the Director of R&D at Covidien (Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group) from March 2009 to March 2015.
Ravi's earlier experience includes roles such as the Director of R&D at Lightfleet Corporation from December 2006 to March 2009, an Electro-optical Engineer at GE Global Research from November 2003 to December 2006, and Manager, Senior Engineer - Optics R&D at JDSU from 1999 to 2003.
Ravi Durvasula, Ph.D, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Ravi also obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
