Allison Ballard

Allison Ballard is a seasoned journalist with a strong background in food and dining reporting, currently serving as a Food and Dining reporter for Gannett at the USA TODAY NETWORK since May 2020. Prior to this role, Allison has worked as the Port City Life Editor for GateHouse Media since May 2018 and as a freelance writer for various publications including Wilma, StarNews, and Better Living Magazine since 2008. From 1999 to 2006, Allison was a Features Reporter for Wilmington Star-News, specializing in coverage of the film industry and the food scene in Southeastern North Carolina. Earlier experience includes serving as an Editorial Assistant at the Wildlife Conservation Society from 1997 to 1999, where editorial support was provided for the Wildlife Society Bulletin. Allison holds degrees from North Carolina State University (1996-1999) and the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
