Eugene Cotten

Eugene Cotten is an experienced professional in the power generation industry, currently serving as a Shift Supervisor and Control Room Operator at Garland Power & Light since January 2024. Prior to this role, Eugene held various positions including Auxiliary Operator at Luminant and Brazos Electric Power Cooperative. Additionally, experience includes working as an Auxiliary Operator at NAES Corporation and as a Power Block I&E technician at Atlantica Yield, where training focused on electrical and instrumentation skills. Previously, Eugene contributed to plant reliability and operator training as a Power Block Supervisor and Operator at Abengoa. Early career experience includes locating underground utility lines with ELM Companies and serving as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Eugene is pursuing an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Power Generation Technology at Bismarck State College, expected to be completed in May 2024.
