Amit is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK), and also holds a bachelor’s degree in Law as well as in Commerce from University of Pune, India.
He has more than 2 decades of professional experience of working in the UK, India, KSA and Bahrain on a broad range of legal, corporate governance, and board secretarial matters which includes drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts; resolving labour disputes; complying with Corporate Governance legislations; convening, attending, and recording board and shareholder meetings; and ensuring compliance with appropriate regulatory and statutory requirements.
Amit joined GARMCO in 2020 as its Legal Counsel and is presently serving as the Group General Counsel and Corporate Governance Officer. He also serves as the Secretary on the board of GARMCO subsidiaries.
Prior to joining GARMCO, he has worked with several multinational corporations such as Thermax India, Tetra Pak India, Halwani Bros KSA and Al Zayani Investments Bahrain to name a few.

Bahrain-based Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (GARMCO) is one of the largest downstream aluminium facilities in the Middle East. It is a one-stop source for a wide range of premium aluminum flat rolled products, delivered to over 45 countries, from the Kingdom of Bahrain. ADDING VALUE TO ALUMINIUM GARMCO was established in 1981 in the Kingdom of Bahrain as the first downstream aluminium facility in the Middle East for rolling, cutting and fabricating aluminium. GARMCO’s annual production capacity has been continuously expanded to reach 165,000 tonnes of high- quality flat rolled aluminium products in various sizes and alloys, including sheets and coils. These products are exported to key markets around the world – stretching from Australia to the USA – to over 2,000 customers in more than 45 countries. Today, as one of the largest integrated downstream aluminium facilities in the Middle East, the Group employs over 750 people and has an annual turnover exceeding US$ 450 million.
