Michael Shanler is a seasoned industry analyst with extensive experience in the business and technology sectors, particularly within the life sciences domain, which includes medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. From January 2011 to February 2020, Michael served as a Distinguished VP Analyst at Gartner, after holding roles as Research Vice President and Research Director, where expertise centered on R&D, innovation, laboratories, 3D printing, the Internet of Things, and informatics. Prior to Gartner, Michael worked at BD Biosciences from November 2000 to January 2011 as Manager of R&D Engineering NPI and Lab Automation Engineer. Michael began a career in automation engineering at Genetics Institute SMD/Wyeth early in 1996, continuing until January 2000. Michael is an alumnus of Boston University.
