Frederick Ooi

Frederick Ooi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Frederick started their career as a Design Engineer at Sony, working on ADC projects. Frederick then joined Shell, where they held multiple positions such as Marketing Executive, Terminal Manager, Area Operations Manager, Business Consultant, and National Sales Manager. In these roles, Frederick demonstrated strong leadership and achieved impressive results by increasing sales, implementing successful strategies, and nurturing high-capacity teams. Frederick later joined LeasePlan Corporation N.V. as Director and ultimately became the Managing Director, overseeing the global vehicle leasing and fleet management company's operations. Currently, Frederick serves as the Managing Director for Garuda Robotics in Malaysia, where they focus on building drone data solutions for enterprises in agriculture, infrastructure, and security sectors.

Frederick Ooi began their education at St Xavier's Institution, where they studied from 1974 to 1981. Frederick then attended St Albert High School in St Albert, Alberta, Canada, from 1982 to 1986, earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Afterward, they pursued further education at the University of Alberta, completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1986 to 1992. Additionally, in November 1999, Frederick Ooi obtained a certification in ISO 9001 Lead Auditor from SIRIM institution.
