Wayne Bacon has a long history of successful business development and leadership. Wayne owned and operated Mills Welding & Specialty Gases, for 24 years before selling the company to Praxair, and was Chairman & CEO of ImmunoDiagnostics, a producer of biological research reagents, for 12 years. Wayne is also an investor in numerous startups and commercial properties in New York and Virginia. He has served on numerous charitable boards in the community, including the Kaleida Health Foundation (past Treasurer) and Buffalo Rotary Club (past President).
Wayne holds an MBA in marketing and a bachelor’s in business administration from University of Delaware. Wayne’s entrepreneurial passion led him to co-found Garwood Medical Devices to focus on solutions to orthopaedic implant biofilm infections. Under Wayne’s leadership, Garwood has been awarded four patents and has others being prosecuted here and abroad. Garwood’s BioPrax device was recently granted FDA Breakthrough Device designation and is well on its way to bringing a revolutionary platform electronic device and treatment to market.
