James Ravella has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. James began their career in the United States Air Force in 2001, serving as a 90 FS/DO until 2004. James then held various roles in the Air Force, including HQ AETC A5 at Randolph AFB from 2007 to 2009 and 33 OG/CC at Eglin AFB from 2009 to 2011. James continued their career in the Air Force as the Chief F-35 Training Office from 2011 to 2012.
After leaving the Air Force, Ravella joined General Dynamics C4 Systems as a Training Systems Business Development professional from 2013 to 2014. James then became President of the Folds of Honor Foundation in 2014, where they were responsible for managing the staff, executing the annual budget, fundraising, and distributing scholarships. James also held the roles of Sr VP for Development and Sr VP for Chapter Development at Folds of Honor.
In 2019, Ravella joined the Gary Sinise Foundation as the Vice President for Outreach, where they currently serve.
James Ravella obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, with a focus on Metallurgy, from Texas A&M University. James attended the institution from 1980 to 1983. Prior to that, in 1979 to 1980, they spent some time studying at Midwestern State University. In 1998 to 1999, James attended the Command and General Staff College. Additionally, in 2004 to 2005, they became a National Defense Fellow, although no specific degrees or fields of study were mentioned during these periods.
