Nicola McSweeney

Nicola McSweeney has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Nicola joined Gas Networks Ireland in 2018, initially as the Head of HR and later promoted to the role of People Director in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Ervia from 2014 to 2018, where they started as the HR Shared Services Manager and then became the Head of HR Operations (Group & Shared Services). Between 2011 and 2014, Nicola worked at Bord Gais as the PMO Capability & Development Manager. Their career began at ANZ in 2004, where they served as a Business Analyst until 2006. Later, they worked at Bord Gais Energy as a Senior Business Analyst from 2007 to 2010.

Nicola McSweeney completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Geography from University College Cork, between the years 1999 and 2002. Following this, they pursued a Higher Diploma in Public Management from the Institute of Public Administration from 2004 to 2005, with a focus on Economics. In 2008 to 2009, Nicola attended the University of Limerick where they obtained a Lean Black Belt and a Diploma in Quality Systems.
