Chris Bluhm Cae

Chris Bluhm, CAE has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Chris is currently serving as the Senior Vice President at the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), where they have been employed since 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Vice President, Finance at AGA from 2020 to 2022.

Before joining AGA, Chris worked at AOTA for a significant duration. Chris held the title of Chief Operating Officer at AOTA from 2004 to 2019, where they were responsible for overseeing various business operations and successfully led a turnaround in membership growth. During their tenure, AOTA saw consistent membership growth from 33,000 to over 68,000. Additionally, they played a key role in enhancing non-periodical publications revenue.

Earlier in their career, Chris worked as a Principal at Snyder Cohn, CPA's from 2001 to 2004. Chris also served in multiple roles at AOTA, including Chief Financial Officer from 1996 to 2001 and Interim Executive Director from 1999 to 2000. Chris Bluhm, CAE attended Hope College from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business Administration. In addition to their undergraduate education, Chris Bluhm has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1992, they received the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). In 1994, they obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Maryland Department of Labor. Later in their career, in 2009, Chris Bluhm obtained the CAE (Certified Association Executive) certification from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership.
