Hooman Azari, P.E. has over 25 years of work experience. Hooman began their career as an Assistant Engineer at Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute (IPP) in 1996. In 2000, they worked as a Project Engineer for Residential Construction. From 2002 to 2012, they worked at PoloDej as a Project Engineer and E.H.S. Supervisor. In 2012, they were a Project Manager for Mapna Group. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at El Paso, and then a Masters Researcher and PhD Researcher Assistant from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Staff Civil Designer at Souder, Miller & Associates. Since 2018, they have been working at City of Austin - Austin Water Utility as an Engineer A, Engineer B, and Graduate Engineer B. In 2021, they began working as a Project Manager for Gate 5, responsible for managing the infrastructure demonstration project design teams and developing innovative, sustainable infrastructure.
Hooman Azari, P.E. obtained a High School Diploma from Don Bosco College, Andisheh High School in 1989. Hooman then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Process Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 1994. In 2013, they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso. In 2016, they obtained an OSHA 10 certification from the Health & Safety Institute (HSI) and an EIT certification from NCEES. In 2019, they received their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
