Marc Swanson

Vice President, Global Tax at Gates

Marc Swanson has over 20 years of experience in tax and finance roles. Marc started their career as a Senior Tax Associate at Deloitte in 1995 and then joined KPMG in 1997, where they progressed through various tax practices and became a Managing Director. During their time at KPMG, they developed a solid technical background and gained experience in Federal Tax, Mergers & Acquisitions Tax, and International Tax. In 2008, they joined Kraft Foods Global, Inc. as a Senior Tax Counsel and played a crucial role in the tax-efficient separation of the company into two entities. After that, they became the Vice President of Tax at Kraft Foods Group, Inc., where they led the Corporate Tax function and achieved significant accomplishments, including managing and developing a lean Corporate Tax team. In 2015, they joined The Kraft Heinz Company as the Vice President, Head of Tax Planning & Controversy, before finally joining Gates Corporation in 2017 as the Vice President of Global Tax.

Marc Swanson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Marquette University (1988-1992), followed by a Juris Doctor degree in Law from DePaul University College of Law (1992-1993), and Brooklyn Law School (1993-1995). Marc then pursued a Master of Laws degree in Tax from New York University School of Law (1996-1999).
